Frequently Asked Questions
Mine Site Installation Guidelines
1 Site Assessment & Preparation
- Evaluate installation area for sharp objects, protrusions, and potential abrasion points
- Clear surface debris and create smooth base where tarp will make contact
- Determine appropriate anchoring system based on size, wind conditions, and application
2 Anchoring System Installation
- Install anchor points at recommended intervals (30-50cm) around perimeter of installation area
- Use appropriate anchors for ground conditions (rock anchors, stakes, concrete fasteners)
- Ensure all anchor points are load-tested for mining site wind and weather conditions
3 Tarp Deployment & Securing
- Deploy tarp with sufficient personnel to prevent dragging over abrasive surfaces
- Secure tarp to anchors starting from one corner, working systematically to opposite corners
- Apply uniform tension across entire surface to prevent flapping in wind and water pooling
4 Maintenance & Inspection
- Inspect weekly for damage, particularly in high-stress areas and contact points
- Tighten any loose fasteners and make immediate repairs to small tears using field repair kit
- Remove debris regularly to prevent abrasion from trapped materials
